Selling is a Process

The idea behind sales training is to give us the communication tools that will help us to better communicate with and  understand others, to discover their specific needs, and to provide solutions to overcome  their unique obstacles and objectives to better lead them in the buying process.

The training time we invest can greatly increase our sales closing ratios, however these new skills can only be utilized if we have enough  prospective students to share our product benefits with. The effort and focus to get out and go get new leads is still a crucial part of our daily efforts.

When we look at the most successful studios we have it is always certain that we see a series of processes in place that are performed ritually every day. These activities insure a consistent lead source and opportunities to enroll new students. If we are to eat we must hunt, the man or woman who sits in a cabin, even if he has a quality rifle will go hungry if he doesn't leave that comfort and go search out and engage their potential bounty.If we are to succeed as Martial Art's professionals. We must search out and implement the day to day activities that produce theses results. There are alot of specific tasks and duties we can adopt to bring in a predictable amount of new prospective students, My challenge to you is to call around to the Top producing studios this week and ask what "a day in the life" of that studio looks like and be specific. The actual time spent prospecting or doing events, cold calls, following up with non-active students and sidewalk time will amaze some of you.

The benefits to your studio will be in direct proportion to your commitment to discover the Processes that make these studios great along with your follow through in scheduling and doing them consistently. Sometimes the best sales technique we can learn is to get out and get selling in the first place!

  1. Daily rituals is the perfect way to think about all those little things that make the big differences that we must do consistently if we hope to have any decent amount of success. Go hunting everyone, because I dont think many fish will come find us!

  2. Hi Sir- I will be sure to pick some brains at University workout tomorrow morning. I will have a lot of studios to choose from, and I know exactly who I am going to ask. :)

    I went to a small event in Del Rey last Sunday. I brought my dog with me, because it was at a park. Many people approached me because of her. So, I got to chat and give out business cards. I have to admit, after the 1st couple of people turned down giving me their name and number, I stopped asking. I need to keep going on in the future.

  3. Daily ritual is tough for me... but I know it helps. When Mr. Falck was still at Westwood, he would give us each a list of things to do, and check with us consistantly throughout the day to make sure each task was done. I miss that a bit. Perhaps I will start writting up my own To-Do lists and get productive!

    I find daily routine to be helpful, but i cannot always keep them up. A wrench will get thrown in the wheels and I have to pick up the routine again after a while. Even though routines are sometimes hard to maintain, they certainly help keep productive.

  7. Consistant Daily Routines ARE key!! One of the most important I beleive is TIME BLOCKING! Sitting down at the start of the day/week and block off the priority work that NEEDS to get done in order for you to succeed, with out that work the blood will stop flowing, and the studio heart beat will slow down or stop. Set priority goals first and focus on those, everything else comes second!

    Hello Sir! Rightfully named, "selling is a process", I have to absolutely agree with the title of this blog! The process we went over last week with the way of approaching new prospects and setting intros for them have been highly effective. Just from last week when you shared that process with us, I've scheduled 9 intros so far! Can't argue with the numbers! In combination with what Mr. Paiz previously said, "Consistant Daily Routines ARE Key!!", there is no other direction our schools can go other than onward and upward! Thank you for the training and I look forward to more!

    I live by this everyday. I have found that having a plan everyday with productivity and not just being busy is key. Promoting every where I go, communication with my students about referrals and getting into events is key to our growth.
